- I was bullied by the same classmate from 1st to 8th grade.
Most of my childhood was spent crying after school to my mom about how much this classmate would badger me and make fun of me for coming from a divorced family. He would tell me my parents separated because they didn't love me and other horrible reasons. While I knew he knew nothing about my family, it still hurt. On an unrelated note, he has since passed and I would never think of letting old memories stand in the way of giving his family the support they needed, as I attended the funeral and brunch following.
My parents remarried when I was young. I was blessed enough to be given 3 wonderful sisters from my father's second marriage. The youngest of those sisters is now being bullied by a child in her class for various reasons. I tried to share my story with her but I know she still hurts when she hears this student's words.
That is my story, full of love and family and I wouldn't have it any other way.
