We are from Bangalore, our daughter was born there and the sex assigned to her at birth was male. Right from a very young age she was very comfortable with girls and would befriend them very easily and never liked to play any of the boy sports. But school became harder for her, even the teachers would discipline her and ask her not to play with girls. So we moved

I'd wanted to pose for NOH 8 for a while and was excited to have the opportunity to do so when the campaign came to West Hollywood . However, I had a long moment of debate with myself about wearing a mask for my picture. As you see, the mask won . After all, it's part of my everyday attire. Being a part of this campaign was an amazing opportunity to take a stand for myself as well as my wife and family. As a queer person who happens to be a woman , veteran and indigenous , I continue to fight against prejudice on all sides.
